Jon McBride & Northern Spy are skilled practitioners in the elusive art of instrumental "feel-good music" - shaped by the blues, funk, R&B, and second-line street beats - tuned to people looking for a good time. Spontaneity and conversive interaction are the hallmarks as they sing, shout, and whisper with an intoxicating rhythmic urgency.

 

Notable gigs have included the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival, the Radio Bean, the Light Club Lamp Shop, Foam Brewers, American Flatbread, Leunig’s, Camp Meade, Red Square, and The 126 as part of Jon’s monthly residency.

 

Northern Spy is led by Jon McBride on tenor and soprano saxophone, Ted Perry on piano and organ, Greg Paraskos on electric bass, and Dwight Ritcher on drums.
